Matthew Heisley

Matthew Heisley serves as Parter and Co-Founder. In this role, he leads mixed-use and retail strategy, leasing, and development throughout the US. With nearly twenty years of experience advising institutional owners, developers, and global brands, Matthew specializes in elevating complex, high-value projects into top-performing retail environments.

Prior to joining District, Matthew served as Senior Vice President in Lincoln Property Company’s Retail division, overseeing national mixed-use pursuits and development initiatives. Before District, he spent 16 years at Open Realty Advisors (now part of Newmark), focusing on Landlord Advisory assignments on projects exceeding $2 billion in value. His work includes landmark mixed use destinations such as River Oaks District-Houston, Music Lane-Austin, Canal Shops-New Orleans, Knox/Henderson- Dallas, Grand Boulevard-San Destin, Buckhead Village-Atlanta, and Legacy West- Plano.

He also contributed with a team for the national expansion of category- defining brands including Restoration Hardware, Warby Parker, and Apple. Matthew and his wife, Teresa, reside in Dallas, Texas, where they are proud parents of their three children. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Oklahoma
